NGO “Vzayemopomich” шукає 4 учасників(-иць), для участі у тренінгу, "Waging the War Against Violent Extremism", що відбудеться 24 березня - 1 квітня, в Qawra, St. Paul's Bay, Malta
About the project:
Violent extremism and the underlying forces of radicalization are among the most pervasive challenges of our time. While violent extremism is not confined to any age, sex, group or community, young people are particularly vulnerable to the messages of violent extremists and terrorist organizations. Violent extremism refers to the beliefs and actions of people who support or use ideologically-motivated violence to achieve radical ideological, religious or political views. This stems to significant rise of radicalism in MALTA as the influx of migrants rise; as politicians use the issue encouraging xenophobic comments, eugenics ideology and even racial hate crimes. This unfortunately often evolves into extremist behaviours which we try to prevent. We will work with young leaders particularly the areas where there are out-of-school youth to recruit for Erasmus youth mobilities. This to encourage multi-culturalism and explain certain ideals which lead to violence and
may cause extremist behaviours. Also to young people using stereotypes and expressed disdain towards migrants lacking the necessary education. These causes are deeply rooted and require serious work which this TC aims to provide. UNESCO’s first Teacher’s Guide on the Prevention of Violent Extremism through education is a document which has been developed in direct response to the needs of UNESCO’s Member States as expressed in the landmark 197/EX Decision 46 taken by UNESCO’s Executive Board in Oct 2015, which calls
on the Organization to enhance its capacity to provide assistance to countries as they work to strengthen
their education sector responses to violent extremism, including through human-rights based Global Citizenship Education (GCED) programmes, keeping in mind national contexts. This guidance seeks to provide countries with a set of resources that can help build and reinforce national capacities to address the drivers of violent extremism through holistic and pragmatic education sector- wide responses. In order to ensure the relevance of this Teacher’s Guide in different geographical and socio-cultural contexts, it was developed after an extensive consultation process with experts and teachers from different regions as well as field-tested by educational stakeholders in selected countries. Thus it is the basis of our project within which we are going to implement its guidelines and recreate a methodology that fits particularly our partner regions.
