Cadet of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Roman Pshenychnyi confidently combines studies with an active sports life. Outside of official duties, he finds balance in sports, which has become an integral part of his personal development.

Kickboxing has been a part of Roman's life since childhood and has instilled in him discipline, endurance and perseverance – qualities necessary for future service in law enforcement. He applies the skills he has acquired in sport on a daily basis during his studies at university.

The cadet combines his studies at KhNUIA with regular training. According to him, sport helps him stay in shape, maintain psychological balance and work effectively under increased stress.

‘Training is my way of recharging and focusing. It helps me stay motivated,’ says Roman.

Roman's sporting achievements: multiple champion of the city of Khmelnytskyi and Khmelnytskyi region; from 2018 to the present, he holds the title of champion of Ukraine (seven-time champion of Ukraine); winner of the 2023 World Cup (Budapest, Hungary); silver medalist at the 2024 World Cup, World Championship and European Championship in WAKO kickboxing among adults (Budapest, Hungary).

The university supports cadets who strive to develop not only professionally but also personally. The opportunity to combine study with sport is an important factor in the successful training of future law enforcement officers.

Outside of study and training, Roman is passionate about cooking, which helps him recharge his batteries and find emotional balance.

The ‘Out of Form’ project tells the story of cadets and employees of KhNUIA as individuals who combine service, study and their own interests. https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/26359
