Kseniia YURTAIEVA, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the ERI No.1, took part in the V Polish Conference on Memory Research held by University of Silesia (Uniwersytet Śląski) in Katowice, Poland. She spoke on the panel «Memory after the russian invasion of Ukraine»  with the report «Memorialization of the russian-Ukrainian war: restoring the past, minting the future».

In her report, Kseniia YURTAIEVA revealed how the rf uses historical arguments to avoid responsibility for crimes committed during the aggression against Ukraine, and also analyzed Ukraine's formation of a policy of remembrance regarding the russian-Ukrainian war.

During the panel discussion, the Associate Professor identified ways to achieve justice for russian crimes, emphasizing the importance of correctly qualifying and proving war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide as a key element in preserving the memory of the russian-Ukrainian war. https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/25959
