For the further implementation of the Community Police Officer project in Ukraine, with the assistance of the ICITAP program and the US Department of Justice, a five-day training course "Training of Coaching Skills" has started at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs to train instructors from the National Police.

Among the trainers, there are ICITAP law enforcement advisers, highly qualified police officers from the United States. The participants of the training were experienced active community police officers and employees of NPU units for interaction with communities.

According to the results of the training, the course participants should learn to conduct trainings for future community police officers, be able to apply the principles of effective communication between the police and the community, and so on. During the classes, modern techniques of interactive adult learning will be used, namely - facilitation of the educational process, interaction with students, the work with different types of participants, and others.

Dmytro Shvets, the First Vice-Rector of the University, met the participants of the training course. He congratulated with the beginning of the training, wished success in training, and stressed that students should carefully master the knowledge, acquire the necessary skills because later they will participate in the training of community police officers.
