Compliance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Prevention of Corruption’ in terms of financial control is one of the key foundations of integrity in the activities of the National Police of Ukraine.
As part of Integrity Week, a meeting was held between final-year cadets of the specialty "Law" with the Commissioner for Anti-Corruption Activities of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Kateryna Udod, and representatives of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Vinnytsia region, led by Oleh Varanitsa, Head of the Corruption Prevention Sector.
The main topic of the event was a discussion of the procedure for conducting special checks of declarations of persons authorised to perform state or local self-government functions. This procedure directly concerns university graduates before their appointment to the positions of investigators and interrogators in the practical units of the National Police of Ukraine.
During the meeting, Kateryna Udod emphasised the importance of a responsible approach to financial declarations: "Filling out a declaration is not a formality, but an element of a police officer's professional responsibility. Attentiveness, accuracy and timeliness in providing information are the key to successfully passing the special check," said the Commissioner for Anti-Corruption of KhNUIA.
Kateryna Udod and the Senior Inspector for Special Assignments of the Anti-Corruption Sector of the MDNP in Vinnytsia region described in detail to the cadets the step-by-step algorithm for filling out the declaration, shared their practical experience in conducting special checks of declarations of previous years' graduates, and drew attention to the most common mistakes made by declarants.
Such events help to foster a culture of integrity, legal awareness and a responsible attitude towards the performance of official duties among future investigators and detectives, which is an integral part of professional activity in the National Police of Ukraine. https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/26354
