Tetiana MATIUSHKOVA, Head of the International Cooperation Department, and Vitalii NOSOV, Professor of the Department of Counteracting Cybercrime at the ERI No. 4, joined an online working meeting with Pedro COSTA MUNOZ, CEPOL TOPCOP Project Coordinator.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Department of Education, Science and Sports, the Department of Cyber Police, the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine.
The participants discussed the program and expected results of the training course for law enforcement officers of Ukraine on the topic: "Cryptoasset Analysis: Tracing Illicit Funds and Identifying Wallet Owners". The training is currently being developed by specialists of the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) within the framework of the TOPCOP project ("Strengthening Strategic and Operational Cooperation in the Eastern Partnership Countries in the Fight against Organized Crime") and is scheduled for implementation in the second half of this year.
The upcoming course aims to increase awareness of crypto-asset technologies, new threats, forensic analysis of cryptocurrency and crypto-token transactions in payment system blockchains, technologies for concealing the origin of crypto-assets, methods for deanonymizing crypto-wallet owners and sources of funds, typical fraudulent schemes, and to teach law enforcement officers how to use available tools and specialized services in investigations related to crypto-assets.
