On the occasion of the Day of Unity of the Ukrainian People, a solemn ceremony of raising the State Flag of Ukraine took place on the flagpole of Serhiivskyi Maidan in the center of Kharkiv. The event was attended by the Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleh Syniehubov, the Head of Kharkiv Regional Council Tetiana Yehorova-Lutsenko, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Valerii Sokurenko, representatives of state institutions, public associations and cadet-student community.

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine, February 16 was declared the Day of Unity. On this day, the State Flags were waving on all buildings. And at 10 o'clock in the morning the National Anthem of Ukraine sounded across the country.

The management, scientific and pedagogical staff and students of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs joined the national performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine.

Also in the regional center with the participation of students of the city 50-meter Flag of Ukraine was unfurled!

At Kremenchuk near the monument to Taras Shevchenko, representatives of Kremenchuk Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs joined the celebration of Unity Day. At the solemn event, the city administration, representatives of various educational institutions and organizations, college staff led by the director Ruslan Yakovlev sang the National Anthem of Ukraine and raised flags.
