The European Traditional Karate Championship took place in Katowice (Poland). The competition was attended by cadets of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs – members of the national team of Ukraine in traditional karate and a coach – a senior lecturer at the Department of Tactical and Special Physical Training of the Faculty №3 Yurii Povkh. According to the results of the competition, the athletes of the university took prizes.

Yurii Povkh, a senior lecturer at the Department of Tactical and Special Physical Training of the Faculty №3, won two medals: a bronze medal in the “Kata with Weapons” section (cold-arms technique) and a bronze medal in the “Tamesivari” section (breaking solid objects).

4th year cadet of the Faculty №2 Anastasiia Pustovit won five medals:

  • gold medal in the section “Kata – formal complexes” in the age category of 18-20 years;
  • bronze medal in the section “Kata – formal complexes” in the age category of 21-25 years;
  • silver medal in the section “Kumite” (sparring);
  • bronze medal in the section “Tamesiwari” (breaking solid objects);
  • bronze medal in the section “Kata with weapons” (technique of working with cold-arms).

Polina Ivanchuk, a 4th year cadet of the Faculty №2, won three medals:

  • gold medal in the Kata – Formal Complexes section;
  • bronze medal in the Kumite section (sparring);
  • Tamesiwari section (breaking solid objects).
