Serhii Bortnyk, the first vice-rector of the university, police lieutenant colonel, conducted instruction on the readiness of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs to participate in measures to ensure public safety and legal order during the October 25, 2020 elections.

The day before, tactical and special exercises “Public safety and legal order activities during the local elections in Ukraine – 2020” were held at the university on a remote basis. “Instruction booklets with regard to actions of police officers during the election process in Ukraine” were developed and distributed to the staff of the university that would be involved in the service. More than a thousand permanent and non-permanent members of the university will be involved in the service before and during the elections as part of the regional police garrisons.
