Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted ceremonial events on the occasion of the completion of training seminars "Fundamentals of special tactics of special police units according to the European model of public safety and order during peaceful assemblies and other mass events". 

The event was attended by the Head of the European Union Advisory Mission Antti Hartikainen, the Head of the Specialized Team of the EU Advisory Mission Fernando Magro Moros, representatives of the United Nations Office for Project Services in Ukraine,  European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine (EUAM),  the Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Colonel Ihor Babych,  the First Vice-Rector of the University, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets, Coaches of Special Police Units of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region and Kyiv, and others.
For almost two weeks, 70 special police units of the MDNP in Kharkiv region improved their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in ensuring public safety and order according to the European model, got acquainted with the concept of public order in European countries, the command structure of public security units, studied crowd psychology and its features, ways of managing it. Instructors from
Sweden, Denmark and Spain, who shared their own experience, helped with this.
Before handing over the certificates of completion, the participants observed the moment of silence to commemorate patriotism, courage and heroism of those who laid down their lives for the unity and independence of Ukraine, and those who died in performing their duty.
The Head of the European Union Advisory Mission Antti Hartikainen said that despite the pandemic, the exercises had taken place and they were very important. He thanked the main staff of the National Police and Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs which supports the implementation of the European concept of public safety and order. The main goal of the event is to increase the efficiency of the National Police and the level of public confidence. The the Head of the European Union Advisory Mission Antti Hartikainen wished the police to use the acquired knowledge and experience in their work.
The Head of the EUAM Specialized Team Fernando Magro Moros, expressed confidence that the Ukrainian police, who will start working on the new model, will become an example for their colleagues. He thanked the Ukrainian coaches for their help in conducting the classes and noted that the Ukrainian police have a high level of training, so he is convinced that "difficult tasks will be performed by them, and more complex ones will take a little more time".

Dmytro Shvets, the First Vice-Rector of the University thanked the EUAM representatives for conducting an interesting and meaningful training at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs on behalf of the Rector, Police general of the third rank Valerii Sokurenko. Such trainings are held at the University for the first time, but the staff of the University is ready to cooperate in performing this event in future.
The PRAVO-Police training program has been developed with the support of experts from the EU Advisory Mission to assist the National Police in implementing the recently adopted concept of public order protection.
In addition to Kharkiv, such trainings will be held in Dnypro and Odesa. They will be attended by almost 500 police officers.
After the ceremony, the guests got acquainted with the University campus, inspected the territory, visited training fields.
