Jakub Kucharczyk, an expert on decentralization and project manager of Poznań District Administration of Wielkopolska Voivodeship (Republic of Poland), visited the Center of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

Yakub Kucharczyk met the members of the Scientific Society of Cadets and Students’ Self-Government, the School of Scientific Leadership of the University and delivered a lecture on "Anti-crisis Management in Poznan". He focused on the main aspects of municipal policing in a decentralized environment, where the importance of local communities plays a major role in the overall system of government. Jakub Kucharczyk noted: “Ukraine and Poland have equal starting opportunities for the development of democratic institutions. However, Poland has been a member of the European Union since 2004 and has considerable experience in reforming law enforcement agencies, especially in the context of decentralization. I am convinced that the same processes are actively taking place here today. They will serve Ukraine, accelerate its integration into the European Union. "

Mykola Pakhnin, the head of the Center of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation, a professor of Criminal Law and Criminology department, noted that “Еhe visit to our University of Jakub Kucharczyk, one of the well-known experts on decentralization, confirms Poland's desire to be a true adviser on the questions of integration of Ukraine to Europe. Poland is our reliable gateway of the entry of Ukraine into a single European family. "

After the lecture, there was an exchange of views with the cadets, who prepared a presentation in Polish about the Ukrainian experience of law enforcement in decentralization.

The head of the School of Scientific Leadership Vitaliy Naida noted that such meetings are extremely useful. During lectures cadets get acquainted with the activities of their colleagues in the EU, confidently apply this knowledge in further, already professional activities.
