Tactical special training with the participation of international partners have started at KhNUIA

From June 14 to 18, 2021, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs will host tactical and special training to combat riots for employees of the Patrol Police Department.

The event is supported by an international training program for criminal investigators of the US Department of Justice in the framework of the international technical assistance project "Support and Sustainability of Reforms in the National Police of Ukraine", which aims to improve the skills of commanders and deputy tactical and operational response (TOR) planning and conducting security measures during mass gatherings, with the involvement of a cavalry company TOR, bicycle patrol and acquainting them with the fighting orders to establish control over the crowd.

Prior to the tactical special exercises, the first Vice-Rector of the University, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets, Deputy Chief of the Patrol Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Colonel Vadym Zelenskyi, Senior Law Enforcement Adviser of the ISITAR Program of the US Department of Justice, Scott Warren, International Partners, ISITAR in Ukraine, vice-rectors and representatives of structural subdivisions of the university met police officers.

Dmytro Shvets noted that the university has all the conditions for high-quality knowledge, skills and abilities: “You will have the opportunity to use the material and technical base available at the university, specialists of our university and international partners will work with you. I wish you productive work and good results, so that tactical and special trainings become a professional asset for your further work, so that each of you goes through a high level of training.”

Vadym Zelenskyi, Deputy Head of the NPU Patrol Police Department, congratulated on the start of tactical special exercises and thanked the international partners for their cooperation. He stressed the observance of security measures and internal rules during the exercises.

Scott Warren, a US Department of Justice representative, conveyed best wishes from all US police: “I am very impressed with the brotherhood and support felt by the Ukrainian police. I am sure that the trainings that will take place this week will be a successful project for all of you. "

After receiving instructions, the police began training.
