A Specialized Academic Council D 64.700.04 started its work at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in the year of 1995.

A Specialized Academic Council D 64.700.04 with the right to carry out defense of theses for doctoral (candidate) degrees of Legal and Psychological Sciences in specialty 19.00.06 “Legal Psychology” was created in Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs according to the Decision of the Attestation Board of the Ministry dated December 16, 2019 and order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1643.

Head of the Specialized Academic Council is a Head of the Department of Sociology and Psychology of the Faculty No. 6, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor Olena Yevdokymova.

Deputy Chairman of the Specialized Academic Council is a Professor of the Department of Sociology and Psychology of the Faculty No. 6, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor Vadym Barko.

Scientific Secretary of the Specialized Academic Council is Assistant to the Dean in Teaching and Guiding of the Faculty No. 4, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Pavlo Makarenko.

The personnel of the Specialized Academic Council are composed of scientific and pedagogical staff of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and employees of other higher educational establishments and experts in the field of Legal Psychology. Among them are the founders of modern legal psychology, Doctors of Sciences and professors: Oleksandr Markovych Bandurka, Olena Volodymyrivna Zemlianska, Olena Mykolaivna Tsilmak, Zoriana Romanivna Kysil and others.
