Regular meeting of the Rector's School was held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. Colonel-general of police Aleksander Markovich Bandurka met with the scientific and pedagogical staff of the University.
Annual tournament "The Cup of the Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs" on indoor soccer became a good tradition. This year six teams representing training and scientific institutes: of law and mass communications and criminal police; faculties: of training investigators and interrogators, of training specialists of public order, of psychology, management, social and informational technology and professors' team participated In the tournament. The main reward of this tournament is Challenge Cup of the Rector. Last year the owner of the trophy was the faculty of training investigators and interrogators.
The workshop "The Modern State of Non-Property Relations in Civil Law Research" was conducted in the training and scientific institute of law and mass communications of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. Scientists from the leading higher educational establishments of Kharkiv, and other cities of Ukraine such as Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Uzhgorod, Ivano-Frankivsk and others took part in the event. Some of the participants are not only professors of civil law, but members of the Law Association of Civil Law Lawyers of Ukraine. Students working in a legal clinic of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs were also invited to participate in this workshop.
Ukrainian championship on Thai boxing was held in Kharkov Palace of Sport on January 27-29, 2012. Around 150 athletes from nearly all regions of Ukraine, including representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs participated in the championship. Showing athletic training and high moral and volitional qualities University's athletes won four gold, two silver and one bronze medals.
A good tradition is to hold the third (regional) stage of All-Ukrainian Pupil Law Contest at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. This year 236 best pupils of 9-11 forms who have won the second district stage in Kharkiv and its region participated in the third stage.
One of them Anastasia Makarova, a pupil of the 10th form of Kharkiv gymnasium 43, said that it was the first time for her to take part in this stage of the contest. But having excellent knowledge she is fulfilling the task of the 11th form and, of course, she expects to participate in the next stage of the contest. Annual participation in various contests is mandatory for another participant Daryna Bondarenko, a pupil of the 10th form of Kharkiv specialized school 11. Most of all she likes law contest, since every educated person should know the rights and laws of the state where he/she lives.
The theme of the next meeting of the literary society of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs was the detective genre. Society's supervisor Maria Vsevolodovna Tsvetkova-Vernichenko has read many books of different authors, so she skilfully conducted the work with the cadets developing their literary horizons. Communicating, they shared their impressions about what they had read, defined story plots and discussed writers' writing styles. Considerable attention was paid to the psychological aspect in the writing of detective stories. Summing up, everyone agreed that the main thing in detective genre was unpredictability of the plot, because we need an unexpected denouement to interest the reader. Unfortunately, book publishing is a big business now, most authors do not go deep into the psychology of writing as writers-classics of XIX-th century did. That's why cadets make parallels between past and present by reading many literary publications.
Celebrating Ukraine Unification Day the staff of social and humanitarian work and leisure center organized a number of thematic lectures and excursions to the historical museum for all cadets of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. Photos, documents and videos related to this significant event in the history of our country were presented for the attention of young men and women.
Cadets put forward some questions after finding out a lot of interesting facts. After lectures the boys and girls went over represented in the museum thematic expositions.
The textbook "The History of Economics and Economic Thought" has been elaborated and published at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. Its author is Doctor of Economics, Professor Murat Abdykasovich Sadykov. The main issues of economics' history and economic thought from ancient times to the modern stage of the national economy of Ukraine development are outlined in the publication.
Examining the history of economical studies is necessary for understanding and development of modern economic theories that allow better to understand and shape the economic policies of enterprises, regions and states.
Presentation of the new web-site of the training and research institute of law and mass communications of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs has recently taken place. It will contain a lot of interesting and useful information for students and school-leavers, which is going to be updated every hour, there will be some new sections, site users will have the opportunity to get an answer to any question on-line and a make a virtual tour of the institute, etc. It should be stressed that the site's designer is a student of the third year.
The library of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs has become a popular place for self-education, self-training and communication of cadets and students. Despite the winter holidays, University's library and educational center work on improving the system of extracurricular work of cadets and students.
The work of the employees of the University's library is directed on implementing modern informational technologies, because it is an essential factor in ensuring unassisted work.
