Representatives of EU Advice Mission, videlicet Hugues Fantou (Deputy Head of Mission), Victor Brandt (Deputy Head of Regional Outreach), Stanislav Bezovsky (Regional Outreach Officer), Mihai Barbutu (Regional Outreach Officer), Ivanna Ilchenko (Regional Outreach Assistant), have officially attended Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. Delegation members have met with management of the university and discussed matters related to reforming internal affairs bodies of Ukraine and possibility of further cooperation.

At the time of meeting rector of the university Serhii Husarov has specified in detail the history of university establishment, its structure, major goals of educational institution to representatives of EU Advice Mission, noting that much attention is given to weapons practice, physical, tactical and special training at the university, as well as community outreach.

Deputy Head of EUAM in Ukraine Hugues Fantou has told about activity of this Mission in Ukraine, noting that Mission officers, representing different countries of Europe, are always ready to render consultative assistance in the basis of experience related to reforming police of their countries.

An excursion along the university has been made for delegation members after negotiations. Guests have familiarized with material and technical base of the university, lecture halls, training ranges, training center of combating cybercrime and cyberspace monitoring, university’s museum.

In conclusion of the meeting, and taking into consideration that representatives of EU Advice Mission have a wide experience in this field and tackle the issues related to assistance to reforming civil security sector in Ukraine, oral arrangements concerning further assistance to training process at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs subject to European best experience have been reached.
