Functions of the department:

- organization and establishment of a unified procedure for documenting official activities, work with documents in KhNUIA, including those containing proprietary information;

- ensuring timely acceptance, accounting, processing (initial processing) of documents, correspondence, regulations, including those containing proprietary information, which come to the University from central and local executive authorities, organizations, deputies of all levels, citizens, their associations, stateless persons, requests for information, lawyer's requests, reporting to the University management and bringing them to the attention of the executors;

- organization of personal reception of citizens and organization of urgent personal reception of deputies of all levels by the University management on issues within the competence of the University;

- control over the publication of information about the University on the website of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in accordance with the current legislation, as well as the functioning of the Public Information Accounting System at the University and the entry of relevant information into it

- control over the timing of documents: preparation of responses to public authorities, other institutions and organizations regarding documents, events and other information; consideration of inquiries and appeals of deputies of all levels, citizens' appeals, requests for information, lawyer's requests and preparation of responses to them; timing and quality of execution of orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, KhNUIA and measures determined by orders, instructions of the management of KhNUIA, if control over their implementation is entrusted to the department;

- acquisition, provision of storage, accounting, and use of archival documents generated in the course of the University's activities.
