Discussions at the Controlling White Collar Crime Workshop have discovered a number of problems requiring immediate solution in the field of controlling White-Collar Crime in Ukraine and Poland. The participants of the Workshop named issues of the information sharing, legal assistance and proper education of law-enforcement officers and controlling agencies clerks as the hottest ones.
In this connection the Follow-up meeting has four goals: (1) discuss practical issues of the information sharing at both national and international levels and share progressive experience in this field; (2) present and review conclusions that have emerged from the research and writing of the Practical guide to White Collar Crime Investigation which will serve as main educational tool for Ukrainian law-enforcement, controlling agencies, banks and business in this field; (3) presentation of the Controlling White-Collar Crime web site - the first Ukrainian and English language web resource on this issue; (4) plan the formation of a working group on white collar crime for further effective research and other kind of activities.
Participants in this meeting are: liaison officers of law-enforcement, controlling agencies and banks; academics; contributors to the Practical guide to White Collar Crime Investigation, the book on white collar crime that resulted from Controlling White Collar Crime: A Workshop Promoting Ukrainian-Polish Cross-Border Cooperation held in Kiev, Ukraine, October 14 -15, 2002.
The meeting will have frame of round table discussion and will take place at the Academy of Procurature of Ukraine within the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine: Kiev, Mel'nikova street, 81-Б, Friday, November 14, 2003.
